Most Räder items are handcrafted or partially handmade in small-batch production. Despite great care, slight deviations in material, shape and color may therefore occur.

We recommend that porcelain items are hand washed using non-abrasive cloths and mild cleaners.

Räder wood items or items which feature wood detail should always be hand washed and thoroughly dried. Submersion of wood items in water should be avoided or very brief. Wood kitchen products may benefit from oiling with a natural oil such as sunflower oil, olive oil or walnut oil. Please see individual product instructions upon receipt of the item for further details.

Porcelain trays and bowls which are glazed in the contact area are food safe.

Porcelain items have a consistent color throughout the material and due to the materials, tends to be a more pure white color than ceramic. Porcelain, even unglazed, is smoother to the touch than ceramic. Porcelain is a denser material, but lighter in weight than ceramic and less porous. Due to the material density and higher temperature firing, porcelain is more durable than ceramic or stoneware. Light can shine through very fine porcelain.

We recommend the use of flameless candles with Räder products. Flameless candles are easy to maintain, cause no mess or fuss and are safer than traditional candles with open flames. Flameless candles provide the same ambient light, and often with the benefit of a timer. However, Räder candle holders can also be used with traditional tealight candles. If using traditional candles with Räder products, please do not leave lit candles unattended and be aware that porcelain will become extremely hot. Real flame candles should only be used on fireproof surfaces, away from other objects, and not around children..
